Gökkusagi Schools offer academically challenging and rewarding national and international programmes focusing on the cultivation of individual talents and intellectual, social and emotional development.

Founded in 1997, in the heart of Istanbul, Gökkusagi Koleji is serving students from nursery through grade 12, now has four campuses in different central locations of Istanbul. Three of the schools are International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) candidate schools, seeking for authorisation of PYP and all are authorised Cambridge Primary and Cambridge International Schools. The campus in Bahcelievler district, which is called Gökkusagi Koleji, is an IB Diploma Programme World School. The language of instruction is English and Turkish, and the school operates from the mid September to mid June (180 days) with a fourteen day-semestre break at the end of January.
Increasing number of international students from Middle East and Balkan countries makes the school attractive and creates an international environment which helps understanding cultural differences.
Classrooms are equipped with projectors and computers with wifi access in each classroom. Our library offers reading materials and resources in Turkish and English. An online library is available 24/7 and offers e-books. Various digital resources enable students to research their topics. iPad applications are used by all students and the faculty as a learning and teaching tool.
As a school we implement an intensive English language programme and Spanish is taught as a second foreign language.
School facilities comprises 15+ classrooms, a library, an online media classroom for online courses, IT labs, a mind games lab, a STEM lab, a music room, an art room, an auditorium, an indoors swimming pool, a covered sports hall, science laboratories, a gymnastics area and two terrace areas for students. There are two cafeterias serving drinks and tasty snacks during break times and lunch times. Lunch is provided and served at the attic with a beautiful scenery of Istanbul. The school has a security system with several cameras.
After school Learning Opportunities
Students can use all the school facilities after school and at the weekends. Students can attend outstanding range of sports, music and art academies such as drawing, painting, dance, chess, guitar, piano, photography, drama, robotics, computer programming, rowing, football, basketball, volleyball, archery, rafting, bowling, skiing, ice-skating, wushu, kickboxing, horseriding, darts, futsal, pingpong, badminton and korfball. The school offers a diverse and wide programme of extracurricular activities including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Programme, Entrepreneurship Club, Community Service, charity events and fundraising activities.
New students are accepted at the beginning of the academic year in grade 9, 10 and 11. Applicants need to sit a formal entrance exam and hold interviews.
Gökkusagi Koleji is an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme in grade 11 and 12 and also Cambridge IGCSE programme in grade 9 and 10 as a pre-IB programme. IB courses are selected according to students' expectations and tertiary education plan.
