Our mission is to create lifelong learners who possess the competencies, confidence, and knowledge to meet the challenges that face them. Living in a diverse society and globalized world, we work on graduating students who are contributing members of society, tolerant of others and empowered to shape their own future.

The German International School Beirut maintains its progress through constant improvement in both structural and curricular aspects, having the students at the top of its pyramid of priority. Our motto is "Inspire-Educate-Support".

Inspire

One of our main goals has always been to inspire our students to follow their passion. We support our students to decide what course their life will take at such an early stage, and so to aid their decision we try and expose them to as many activities and experiences as possible. From our balanced and eclectic subject offerings to our wide range of CAS projects and experiences, we want our students to have the most fulfilling educational process possible. As such, we've made full use of technology in order to turn our classrooms into informational ecosystems that allow students to freely exchange ideas and take advantage of interactive media to truly immerse themselves in their work. While the written word is the cornerstone of education, we also want our students to learn with sights and sounds, and with their state-of-the-art PC's they have the world at their fingertips. Beyond that, we strongly believe in going green, and our technology initiatives have helped us work towards a totally green campus. We hope that our efforts to promote environmental awareness can really inspire our students to help make the world a better place.

Educate: Curricular Aspects

Our school offers a variety of academic programs. Aside from the IB Diploma Programme, our school also offers the Lebanese National Programme as well as the official German Language Diploma (DSD I, II). Each curriculum strives to impart students with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to excel in academics. Our teaching methods emphasize collaborative learning and critical thinking, and we have developed a highly skilled student body as a result. We also want our students to have a truly international education and as such we offer a variety of language courses in English, German, Arabic, French, and Spanish.

Support: School Community and atmosphere

Inspiring people is all about making them believe they can do something, and we want our students to truly believe in themselves. Our school fosters a diverse, supportive environment that encourages students to be both expressive and patient. Missteps and false starts are part of every process, and our students need to be given the freedom to grow freely and safely. Overall, we want to give our students the setting in which they can reach their fullest academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual potential.
