Suzhou Singapore International School (SSIS) was founded in 1996 in the Suzhou Singapore Industry Park. It is a fully authorized IB World School as well as the oldest and largest international school in Suzhou, China. Since its establishment, SSIS has grown from 20 students in a few rooms into a school of a 14-hectare campus with 1000+ students from 50 different nationalities.

SSIS offers a challenging curriculum to cultivate global citizens and life-long learners. Everyday students are challenged to actively participate in their education. This produces students that consistently perform well above world averages, and is why SSIS is one of the best schools in China.

Curriculum and Activities

SSIS offers three IB programs including PYP, MYP and DP from preschool to Grade 12 along with a German curriculum in the elementary school. A strong partnership between students, faculty and parents, enables SSIS to maintain a rigorous and challenging education. SSIS offer a wide range of academic, cultural and recreational programs ensuring to deliver the highest quality international education possible. SSIS offers more than 100+ activities, whether it is the visual arts program, showcased by a week-long celebration of the Arts; SSIS Book Week, celebrating global literacy or the much anticipated International Family Day, there is something for everyone. SSIS students also have the opportunity to compete against other peer schools in academics, arts and sports, through its memberships with ACAMIS, SISAC, EARCOS and CISSA.

Accreditations and Affiliations

SSIS is accredited by external agencies including IB (International Baccalaureate Organization), CIS (International Association of Schools), NEASC (New England Association of Schools). SSIS is also a member of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS) and the East Asia Regional Council Schools (EARCOS).

Faculty and Staff

SSIS attracts the highest caliber of teachers with masters degrees and doctorates. Faculty is comprised of over 150 dedicated professionals from over 20 countries, each bringing their own unique perspective on teaching and learning.

Campus

Spread across a spacious 14 hectometer campus, the building boasts integrated technology and air purification systems throughout all classrooms and common areas. Art and Performance facilities include 600-seat theater, black box theater, orchestra room, 3 dance studios, individual music practice spaces and art carrels. Recreational facilities include 3 playgrounds, 2 gymnasiums, a new soccer pitch, 400M running track, 25M swimming pool and tennis courts. The Science and Design facilities include fully equipped science, food technology and hard materials labs. The Learning Technology Center includes 500+ ipads, charging stations, green room, podcast facilities and Lego robotics room.
