As the adage goes, 'A tree with strong roots laughs at storms.' This best encapsulates what Acorns International School (AIS) is symbolic of. Our tree bears fruits that stand the test of time.

Nestled between the verdant folds of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, AIS is sprawled over a 5-acre state-of-the-art, purpose-built campus, that nurtures the balance between academics and extracurriculars.

Over two decades in the field of education, we have grown to represent more than 50 nationalities. The AIS team strives to inspire and empower every student to achieve their personal best and become enquiring, knowledgeable, lifelong learners and pluralists who create a better and peaceful world, through intercultural understanding and respect.

Admissions are open throughout the academic year, subject to availability. We have a limit to the number of students per classroom, for uncompromised quality. This interface gives teachers an edge to assess each student's area of strength, and improvement. Teachers are supported in this process, with timely professional development sessions, to ensure growth and excellence. Through an open-door policy, we ensure that our main stakeholders, our parents, are full partners in the decision-making process and voice concerns not only of their children, but their own too.

The language of instruction is English, with French and Kiswahili as part of our dynamic curriculum. Through our engaging and rigorous, inquiry-based environment, students reach their full academic potential and become responsible, caring, multilingual, and culturally-literate global learners.

AIS is non-sectarian and co-educational institution, founded on strong partnerships between parents, teachers and learners.

A visit to AIS allows your family to experience the school in a relaxed environment, meet with the administration, as well as visit classrooms, science lab, performing arts room, library, swimming pool, auditorium, soccer grounds and the basketball court.

AIS is an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) School and a *candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

AIS accepts students from the age of 18 months, in the Early Childhood department (18 months - 5 years), to Primary Years Programme (Year 1 - Year 6), Middle Years Programme (Year 7 - Year 11), and Diploma Programme (Year 12 - 13) to be offered in academic year 2020-21.

It is always onwards and upwards for us, at AIS, and we would love for you to join us!

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
