ACS Athens has been an IB World School offering the IBDP since 1976. ACS Athens is the 66th school in the world to provide the IBDP and the first to introduce the program in Greece. Students from 60+ nationalities currently study at ACS Athens. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools to offer an American High School Diploma, and it is the first and only one outside the US achieving the accreditation protocol of "Sustaining Excellence." ACS Athens is located in a suburb of Athens on a privately owned enclosed campus consisting of five main buildings. The campus features a 5-lane 25m swimming pool, a state-of-the-art theater, a green-screen 4K TV studio suite with a podcast booth, a soccer field, an indoor gymnasium with a climbing wall, indoor and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and a fine arts suite.

Currently 66% of the upper class is enrolled in the IB Diploma programme and more than 89% of the remaining students have designed a program that combines IB and AP courses where they are enrolled in more than one IB or AP course. IBDP candidates at ACS Athens can obtain a bilingual IB Diploma, as well as an American High School Diploma when they complete the required courses successfully. ACS Athens has had a consistent average of 36 points since 2018, which is considerably higher than the average world score. Over 98% of ACS Athens graduates are admitted to top universities in the US, UK, Canada, the Netherlands, and elsewhere.

The extensive IB CAS program, including musical performances, participation in sports and service in hospitals, elderly care facilities, the Youth-to-Youth Part-time Educational and Social Integration program for unaccompanied refugee minors, and the Koinonos Club which offers help to the homeless, enhances a student's education, broadens their perspectives and makes a student aware of real-life situations and concerns.

ACS Athens also embraces virtual learning, inaugurating ACS Athens Virtual in 2019, which offers mainstream and non- traditional high school accredited courses.

Academic support through the Writing, Math and Research Studios assists and enhances the writing and mathematical skills of each student. Furthermore, a comprehensive program for college applications offered by our Student Affairs department facilitates admission to the finest institutions around the world. ACS Athens follows a best-fit university approach, ensuring students identify universities and colleges that will best suit them academically and personally.
