Set amongst 16 beautiful acres of natural chaparral, Chatsworth Hills Academy (CHA) is a warm, nurturing, and diverse educational community, which believes first and foremost that children should enjoy coming to school. Serving grades PS-8, CHA is the only authorized PYP International Baccalaureate World School in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. CHA's middle school offers the MYP program as a candidate school, seeking full authorization in the spring of 2018.

The nurturing faculty at CHA facilitates authentic learning experiences through thought-provoking units of inquiry that explore relevant global concepts such as sustainability, conflict, and culture. Learning at CHA goes much deeper than traditional approaches as students are encouraged to find answers to thoughtful questions they themselves have posed. CHA students develop the skills of analyzing information, thinking critically, and reflecting on their learning. The aim of the program is to develop young people who have an international perspective and who consider the global impact of their actions.

CHA welcomes international students from all over the globe for both short-stay and full-year terms. The Tribes program at CHA helps create an inclusive environment for all students. Guided by the shared agreements of mutual respect, appreciation/no put downs, attentive listening, and the right to pass/participate, CHA students learn to effectively work with their peers and to become productive members of the greater global community.

Students at CHA attend specialist classes in the disciplines of art, music, P.E., technology, library, and Spanish. They have the opportunities to participate in drama productions, after-school enrichment activities, team sports, and student council. There are grade level trips to Sea World, Yosemite, Catalina, and Washington D.C. CHA graduates emerge from the program with the confidence and skills needed for future success and go on to be successful at the best high schools in the region.

CHA accepts applications at all grade levels throughout the year with the priority application deadline of February 9, 2018. For more information or to schedule a school tour visit: www.chaschool.org
