A Better Education, A Better Future
Discovery School is a Catholic school situated 50 km south of Mexico City in the beautiful city of Cuernavaca, also known as the City of Eternal Spring. We offer a coeducational, multicultural, multilingual (Spanish, English, French and Chinese) and personalized education while promoting a balanced development within our students, with special emphasis on the formation of values.
Since our foundation in 1976, a safe and dynamic environment has been created while cultivating creativity, intellectual growth and academic excellence. At Discovery School we foster the development of integrity and self discovery of the abilities of each person within our community.
Through small classes and engaging and qualified faculty we are able to develop a personal relationship with each student. By knowing our students' individual abilities and characteristics, we can best assist them in realizing their full potential.
Our counseling program is essential in our daily labour with the students, to help guide them spiritually, emotionally and academically.
We believe the world can only be changed one child at a time.
We strongly believe that the new generations are in need of tools that will help them face the challenges they will experience throughout their lives; therefore it is vital for us to promote a culture of inquisitiveness, awakening their natural curiosity so that they can grow up being thoughtful citizens who can use their imagination to wonder and speculate about different options, and critique new ideas with the rigour of critical thinkers.
Our human values and virtues program, 'Building a Better World', is one tool Discovery School uses to educate our students' intellect, spirit and heart. This is a fundamental part of our curriculum, allowing us to form free, responsible, socially and environmentally conscious men and women, who are interested in the common good. It is our conviction that personal development is the basis of true and deep social transformation.
As part of our curriculum, and looking for an integral education of our students, we teach our students to have respect for our environment, through different projects that allow our scholars to gain a full understanding of the risks our planet is undergoing. This will, we hope, give them some idea of the different options we all have, to make our planet a better place to live.
Discovery has offered the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme for ages 3-12 since 2008.
In Discovery School students actively participate by developing ideas, questioning, looking for solutions and making decisions related to their academic activities and projects.
