Growing learning minds - the motto of DSB - clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing individually focused education to our diverse range of students and supporting them to become the leaders of the future.

Founded in 1961, we are proud to have been the first international school in Mumbai, originally catering to the German community, and since 2000, to local and international students from over 40 countries.

Located in South Mumbai, we are immersed in the rich and diverse cultural environment of this booming city. The school operates on two campuses: Garden Campus (Kindergarten to year 4) and Aurum House (year 5 to 13). These campuses offer modern spaces and state-of-the-art equipment, specially designed to facilitate collaborative, cross-curricular and independent learning. Our IB students enjoy the privilege of a brand new, purposely fitted IB Center, with individual workspaces for study periods, and breakout teaching spaces for small group work. We also take pride in our fully fitted Design & Technology Studio, rooftop sports facilities, a well-resourced Art Studio and state-of-the-art science laboratories designed and made in Germany.

DSB International School is part of a large network of German Schools Abroad, present in 30 different countries. We offer a dual International and German curriculum, which makes us unique in Mumbai. Our International Primary and Lower Secondary sections (Kindergarten to Year 9) follow an International Curriculum based on the English National Curriculum, while the German Section (Klasse AD to 8) follows a modified version of the Curriculum of Thüringen. Students in Year 10 & 11 study towards the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) while our most senior students (Year 12 & 13) complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Our IB Diploma Programme aims at preparing students for universities worldwide. We provide them with the opportunity to study three languages: German, English and French. We are accredited to offer the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD), a language qualification administered by the German government which gives students access to German universities. We also offer the Diplôme d'Étude de Langue Française (DELF), the French proficiency exam recognised worldwide by employers, universities and institutions. Our German and French speakers may opt for the Bilingual IB Diploma. We offer an excellent academic programme, characterized by a small teacher-student ratio conducive to personalized learning, allowing us to interact closely and meet the needs of each student. Students are each allocated a personal tutor from the staff and are mentored and guided through the programme.

Our IB-trained teachers come from all over the world and are committed to enriching students' learning experiences with their individual expertise and varied cultural background, using the latest technology and innovative teaching methods. DSB International School is not just international by name. We build a environment of mutual respect and we aim to instill a sense of international mindedness in our students through our language programme and through the celebration of various cultures and religions.

Students also develop important life skills through our exciting Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) Programme. They engage in a wide range of activities both in Mumbai and beyond. We pride ourselves in developing a truly meaningful service component for our CAS programme with specifically targeted activities to benefit society and those in need. These activities regularly take them out of the classroom to engage with the corporate sector and to participate in adventures and creative activities that develop them into all-rounded students. We offer the International Award for Young People (IAYP) to further our CAS Programmes and our students represent the school in local, national and international Model United Nations (MUN) conferences.

We also lay the path for students’ future careers by providing quality onsite careers counselling, delivered by experienced and well-connected professionals, and by inviting well-known colleges and universities to connect with our students. We pride ourselves on the fact that all our alumni attend a variety of Universities and Colleges across the world.

DSB International School is a great school. Its unique, warm, friendly, community-style approach to collaborative learning is unmatched anywhere in Mumbai and India.
