Founded in 1899, École des Roches is an international coeducational day and boarding school located on a spacious wooded campus in the heart of the beautiful Normandy countryside. We welcome students aged 6 years to 18 years from 52 nationalities to our Primary, Middle and High school.
École des Roches offers several programmes: French curriculum, International curriculum with the IB Diploma Programme, French as a Foreign Language short stays or full academic year, and also summer and winter intensive language courses.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
In response to the needs of its increasingly international community, École des Roches has been an IB World School since 2016, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in English.
In high school, the school offers a special programme of studies to prepare our students for the International Baccalaureate, with the goal of preparing them for the top universities around the world. We also advise our students in their career choices and accompany them in the university admissions process.
In Ecole des Roches, the IB Diploma Programme is characterised by:
In addition to preparing the students for the IB Diploma, all of our students are encouraged to take advantage of the school context, heritage and resources to improve in their French language proficiency, whether that be at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level.
Our Boarding School consists of 7 residences called Maisons, which are large historic Normandy houses. Boys and girls are divided by age range in these single-sex boarding houses. Foreign students are accommodated with French-speaking students in pleasant and recently renovated rooms. The educational focus of École des Roches from its origins has been to offer educational, psychological and emotional support to our students in order to promote their intellectual and personal development throughout their schooling achievement. Extracurricular activities range from horseback riding and golf to karting on the school's course located on campus.
Students can apply to our school year-round based on availability. Students must submit two years' of school reports, a letter of recommendation as well as a letter of motivation. For further information about admissions or to schedule a tour of the school, please contact us at email@example.com.
