Ermitage International School of France is a bilingual K-12 school located in the historic town of Maisons-Laffitte, just 20km west of Paris. With a student body of approximately 1,250 students, representing over 50 nationalities, Ermitage offers student-centered learning, with a focus on internationalism, leadership and service. Weekday and full-time boarding is available in traditional French residences. For students Grades 6 - 12, the International Studies Program offers instruction entirely in English, with French classes from a beginner to native-level.

Foundation Years 1-5

At Ermitage, we believe that IB Learners start young, and thus we aid students in becoming IB Learners in skill, knowledge and attitude. Our intellectually stimulating lessons are hands-on, inquiry-driven and concept-based aiming to stretch the child and to encourage inquisitiveness and exploration. Ermitage is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

Classes are tailored to the individual needs of our students to prepare them for the demanding IB Diploma Program curriculum. Through a balanced timetable of MYP subject groups, learners are exposed to a wide range of knowledge. We apply the tenets of the IB to our approach to learning in and outside of the classroom throughout these years, encouraging our students to ask challenging questions, to develop a strong sense of identity and culture and fostering good communication skills with people from all over the world.

IB Diploma 1-2

Following the Foundation Years, students enter the IBDP prepared and motivated after gaining experience with character-based projects and developing their critical thinking skills in a supportive learning environment.

Within the dynamic IB environment, students are encouraged to think critically and become independent learners, coming prepared to class, presenting the material and being coached by their teachers. Assignments are demanding, but by graduation the calibre of research, writing and project management skills will be exceptional. The balance between academic work and co-curricular activities allows students to tailor the program according to their interests and develop an impressive university profile in the process.

Round Square

As a Global Member of the Round Square Organization, Ermitage is connected to like-minded schools, offering a variety of service-learning trips, global exchanges and leadership conferences.

Students also discover their interests outside of the classroom through a daily co-curricular program with the opportunity to initiate projects, participate in leadership experiences, sports and more while connecting with local and global communities.
