Oldest and largest - Fairview is the oldest and largest network of International Baccalaureate World Schools in Malaysia with 5 campuses located in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Johor Bahru, Penang and Ipoh. Furthermore, Fairview prides itself with having an EduResort in Port Dickson, Malaysia, and two additional campuses in Scotland, UK, and Batam, Indonesia. Fairview is also a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Our mission is to serve the Malaysian ‘Rakyat’ (community) and the globe with the best education in accordance with the International Baccalaureate’s philosophy of ‘Education for a Better World’.
Academically outstanding – Fairview’s IB Diploma Programme 2020 graduates achieved outstanding results, with a class average of 37.3 points, and the highest score being 43 out of 45. While 97 % scored 34 points or more, our learners achieved a 100 % pass rate - compared to 79.1 % worldwide.
International minded and globally responsible – Learners go on international expeditions twice a year learning about different cultures and developing a deep understanding that others may also be right. Learners take their learning outdoors by going on educational field trips to the United Kingdom, Australia, China and other countries.
Futureproofed with skills – Skill development in Fairview is systematic, structured and unique. Guided by the ATL framework, a special curriculum is taught to the learners consistently through all the year groups in explicit and implicit ways. Integrated fully into assessments, Fairview learners are truly skilled above the rest!
Centered on Great Values – The IB learner profile is infused throughout the curriculum, with character values explored in each lesson, celebration and event. Fairview learners have a wealth of opportunity to learn, discuss and apply essential values that will form the foundation of their future success.
Creative – Our unique music programme ensures that every Fairview learner has the opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument and music theory within our IB programmes. Fairview is working towards becoming an all-Steinway school, having already purchased 2 Steinway grand pianos with an in-built concert hall known as Dominus, which showcases the best in Performing Arts through the directorship of world-acclaimed pianist and music teacher, Mr. Kok Kee Boon.
Balanced and Innovative – Beyond the natural IB curriculum, Fairview learners are supported by various technology including our proprietary LMS, BEeD, ClassDojo and Google Classroom. These complement our pedagogical practices, like the flipped classroom by using online lessons at home and inquiry-based learning in school that brings ownership to the learner’s hands. Learners develop a sense of balance in their lives through the Falcon programme camping trips to our very own purpose-built Fairview EduResort at Port Dickson.
Proficiency in Language Acquisition – English is the lingua franca of the school, supported by studies in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
