Greenwood High students pride themselves in being able to not only balance academics, sports and co-curricular activities, but excel in them. Greenwood High IB results far outshine the world average; in 2019 two students achieved a perfect score of 45 in IBDP, in IGCSE results 78% students received a distinction and 20.2% students secured a merit. The school has produced India toppers in both IGCSE and ICSE. And yet, these very same industrious students immerse themselves in theatre and with support from their theatre, art and music teachers, and their talents blossomed into a musical 'Annie' that was compared to professional theatre productions. To encourage them further, the school has held various workshops including one from the prestigious Globe Education.
The school is an open art gallery, for its hallways and open spaces display artwork by the promising young artists. In sports too, the students are champions, for they have won various Basketball, Soccer and Badminton championships. The students are very socially aware, and the Model United Nations debates and forums begin from middle school itself, so that they grow into international minded global citizens.
Greenwood High students are extremely involved in social projects and have contributed to various causes. Our student designs include a six wheeled hand cart with steering, gears and brakes to help street vendors maneuver their hand carts over uneven, hilly terrains, and this has won her the President's Award. Another student had developed a cell phone app 'Corner Shop' "aiming to give small time vendors a platform to boost their sales." One student developed an App for the blind to help them in purchasing groceries and was hailed by IBM while another launched an online debate forum at global level, which was funded by Google and Microsoft. One student has been awarded the Diana Legacy Award for setting up science laboratories in schools for the underprivileged.
The CAS students volunteer in hospitals, paint government run schools for the underprivileged, create breast cancer awareness, clean streets and recycle waste. They raise funds for education and health in rural areas. The CAS students also worked on a social project in Prague.
The students of Greenwood High aim high and reach higher. This year IBDP students have received acceptances in over 200 universities around the world, for many have been accepted in Ivy League colleges, with scholarships to a total of 7.1 million USD. Greenwood High already has students in the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Cornell University, Brown University, Johns Hopkins, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Berkeley, Duke, Imperial College London, to name a few. Indeed, they all take the school motto 'Rooted in Knowledge' very seriously, and while spreading out their wings to soar high, remain rooted deeply in knowledge.
