The first Headstart School was established in 1991 under the leadership of its Chief Executive Mrs. Naznin Murtaza, who continues to provide vision and leadership for the schools that are part of the Headstart School Pvt. Ltd network. Entering its third decade, Headstart School has a strength of more than 2800 students across a network of 12 campuses.

The flagship campus, Headstart School Kuri (HSK) Campus, an IB World School, was inaugurated in 2014 providing quality education for students between age 2 and grade 12. The campus is built on 20 acres of land with purpose-built buildings, vast grounds, cafeteria and sports facilities offering students a holistic experience.

HSK subject offerings are diverse, ranging from physical sciences to the arts and humanities. Classroom knowledge is supplemented by state-of-the-art laboratories in the fields of Science, IT, and Robotics. The school is also a center for Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) assessments and practical examinations. The school's robotics program was the first of its kind in Islamabad, allowing for students to immerse themselves in STEM disciplines, furthering IB's inquiry based approach to learning. In the field of language, students have a choice between Urdu, Chinese, French, and German.

The school is aligned with IB's principles and practices which calls for schools to be organized in ways that value student diversity and respect individual learning differences. HSK's Academic and Behavioral Intervention and Support (ABIS) programme provides inclusion for all children of different backgrounds and abilities.

At HSK, students represent more than 10 nationalities, and are at the center of life on campus. They engage in a diverse set of activities, from hosting Model UN, traveling internationally for student conferences, and also locally to the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The school offers Basketball, Badminton, Football and equestrian facilities. The cafeteria provides wholesome and nutritious meals to its students and staff. Facilities on the campus also include a lecture hall/auditorium for presentations and film screenings, and an open-air amphitheater that can offers outdoor seating for all-school assemblies, performances, and plays.

HSK staff regularly participates in IB trainings at all levels, and several teachers possess advanced degrees within their fields of specialization.

HSK is recognized across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi for its rigorous academic experience, and for provision of facilities that pave the way for excellence in academics, personal growth and success beyond the classroom.
