At the International Bilingual School Munich, children are inspired to embrace their academic, cultural, physical, social and emotional learning potential in partnership with their peers, teachers and families within a stimulating and caring international and bilingual environment. The ibsm learning community supports students to become lifelong learners who strive to be active members of society shaping an internationally minded and peaceful world of tomorrow.

Our School

The ibsm is a small co-educational all-day school ranging from 1st–4th grade. The school is located in the heart of Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and includes a big variety of cultures in a small, family-like learning community. The ibsm has been a state-approved primary school since 2010 and a recognized IBO School since 2017. The four classes (1–4), normally accommodating up to 25 children, are based on a bilingual teaching concept. Each class is taught by an English-speaking and a German-speaking teacher. The teaching curriculum combines the PYP standards and the Bavarian state standards, providing students with a variety of options for secondary schools after their exhibition in 4th grade.

Our school community works closely together building and shaping our school and all the people within it. Our students take initiative and responsibility for their own learning and present their findings and abilities through creative and personalized approaches. Through the dedication and commitment of our staff, we create an intimate learning environment at ibsm with the focus on each child and their very individual development.
