IGB International School (IGBIS) is a premier Early Years to Grade 12 IB World School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The School has an Elementary School (ages 3-10), and a Secondary School (ages 11-19) serving more than 400 students.

IGBIS is the only school in Malaysia authorised for the IB Primary Years Programme, the IB Middle Years Programme, the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme.

In preparing students for life in an ever changing, increasingly complex and more interdependent global community, and to give real substance to the critical goal of ensuring that students ‘learn how to learn’, IGBIS considers that best practice in education achieves the best results. The highly regarded IB programme helps students to develop the intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills to live, learn, and work in a rapidly globalizing world. As a university preparation, the IB is highly valued by leading universities worldwide. The IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. This philosophy underpins the curriculum, co-curriculum and after-school programmes at IGBIS with an aim of inspiring students to become principled, global citizens.

The first two years of graduates of the IB Diploma Programme achieved results well above the world average, with many graduates now studying in top universities around the world.

Now in its fourth year of operation, IGBIS offers a variety of subjects, including a focus on sports, the visual and performing arts, languages, outdoor education and service learning. The school has an established digital platform, with the latest laptop and touch-enabled devices, and comprehensively incorporates information technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

To support the commitment of IGBIS to delivering an exceptional education, the school’s facilities are of an excellent standard. Visual and performing arts are catered for in state-of-the-art dance and drama studios, music practice rooms, and a 540-seat theatre. The impressive sports facilities include an indoor gymnasium housing three full-size basketball courts, a fitness and weight training centre, a FIFA-standard artificial turf football field surrounded by a 400-metre, 8-lane athletics track, two swimming pools (a 50-metre Olympic-size and a 25-metre learn-to-swim), and two tennis courts. The school also contains a covered 500-vehicle parking lot, eliminating the need for on-street parking, and allowing for student drop-off and pick-up in a secure and safe environment.

IGBIS is owned and operated by Detik Harapan Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of IGB Corporation Berhad. IGB Corporation Berhad is a renowned and highly-respected leader in corporate initiatives and property development in Malaysia and beyond.
