III Liceum Ogólnoksztalcace and Gimnazjum No 24 in Gdynia is a joint senior and junior state high school, well-known for the strength of its educational programmes and achievements of its students. The school aims at challenging its students by means of high academic and non-academic expectations and opportunities. It is consistently listed among the top-ranked schools in the country. The school offers the Polish national curriculum, including specialized bilingual classes (Polish/English), and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes.
The current year of 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in our school, which was one of the two schools in the country to pave the way for the IB in Poland.
Every year our IB students excel in their final exams, with the average Diploma result of 37-38 points, and throughout the years a number of students have scored the maximum 45 points. The diploma grades enable the school graduates to attend leading universities around the world including Harvard, Yale, Columbia and MIT in the USA, Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics, Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh in the UK and universities in Germany, the Netherlands or France.
Underlying our school success is the commitment of a team of highly qualified, hard working staff, whose belief in their students' potential and whose involvement in helping young people to surpass their limits and develop as lifelong learners and sensitive citizens of the world creates a motivating school environment. Following the concept of holistic development of the person, the school offers students a range of extracurricular activities including sports, dramatic productions, arts, the Odyssey of the Mind, debate clubs, MUN conferences, a variety of special interest classes as well as opportunities for volunteering for local and world communities and causes.
Our school is situated in the north of Poland, almost in the centre of the dynamically developing modern city of Gdynia and within a ten-minute walk from the beach and seaside boulevard. The school has a dormitory, a gym, sports grounds and a cafeteria on its premises.
The boarding school provides accommodation for about 100 students. Excellent transport facilities (proximity to an international airport, train, ferry and bus services) connects us with the whole world.
