History and Background of the School
It has been 11 years since the inception of Ilmesters Academy in August 2006 by Ms. Alia Sajjad, the owner and the director of the school. It started with Nursery, Kindergarten and Primary grades 1-2.
Ms. Alia started the school with the aim of giving back to the community, a better and a new system of education, as it seemed to be the need of the time whereby the child would be able to express his/her learning through different media.
It was a risk worth taking as at that time it involved the re-learning of the teachers employed.
The school started offering IB Primary Years Programme, and became authorized in 2012 for IB PYP. In 2016 with the aim to expand, it was decided to opt for the candidacy of IB Middle Years Programme, in addition to get the affiliation with Cambridge to offer IGCSE O levels as alternate option for students to meet the local equivalency requirement for higher education in Pakistan.
The school became authorized for IB MYP in July 2018. IB DP candidacy was accepted in May 2018. Currently, ILA is a candidate for IBDP with the aim to commence IBDP from September 2020.
Motivated to work for a tolerant and peaceful world, our mission is to create a learning environment that promotes intercultural understanding and helps young learners grow academically and personally as socially responsible citizens of the world.
Our challenge is to merge knowledge of a rich and diverse tradition with the openness and flexibility of an international curriculum and deliver it through an enthusiastic faculty that works collaboratively with students and parents.
Our aim is to produce minds that can handle the upcoming challenges, problems, issues of the world with peace, appropriate skills and attitudes. In order to achieve this aim, ILA is working as an IB World School and pursuing programmes offered by International Baccalaureate. Ilmesters Academy follows a student centered teaching approach with the objectives to inquire and explore to make sure all our learning methods support student inquiry, exploration and discovery.
