ISA International School of Guangzhou is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, authorised to deliver the Primary Years Programme. The PYP is a framework which we use to 'sweep' across the UK national curriculum, the latter covering the subjects that students learn and the standards children should reach in each subject. The national curriculum for primary students is divided into 3 key stages: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage One (KS1), and Key Stage Two (KS2).

The aim of ISA International School of Guangzhou is to educate the next generation of internationally-minded students, to take their place in the world as leaders, thinkers, developers, and creators and shapers of a better world. Students will graduate with outstanding academic skills. Through a spiraling curriculum, each student studies key concepts and discovers knowledge of the world around them through an inquiry-driven approach to learning.

Students will be both internationally-minded and also grounded in their own unique cultural identity. We believe that every child must maintain his or her cultural identity and mother tongue language development.

We are located inside the famous Redtory Art and Design complex, beside the Pearl River, very near the Zhujiang New Town CBD. Visitors are always welcome.

What do our parents really like about ISA?

  • We are a small, boutique school that has small class sizes and pays particular care and attention to each and every child.
  • We are an international school with a fusion of UK curriculum standards and the IB's Primary Years Programme (PYP). We have a special focus on literacy and numeracy.
  • We have a well-developed pastoral care program that focuses on moral and character development as well as helping students develop high levels of self-confidence and positive social relationships.
  • Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced, and really enjoy teaching children. They expect good academic results and also focus on the children's wellbeing.
  • We have a broad cocurricular program with excursions and camps, and also sport, music, and special interest clubs on Thursday afternoons. Some clubs operate on a weekend as well.
  • We focus on languages more than most international schools. All students have 5 hours of English and 4 hours of Chinese per week. Students with a different 'mother tongue' also have 4 hours of language tuition. Currently we offer Arabic, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Students with a Chinese heritage can choose to do an extra 4 hours of Chinese or 4 hours of English.
