Founded in 2007, the Jakarta Multicultural School (JMS) is located in the green Situ Gintung area South of Jakarta, providing abundant open spaces and clean air away from the crowded city. JMS is committed to provide an education that respects the plurality of beliefs, cultures and way of thinking. Moreover, we advocate for inclusive education whereby everyone including learners with special needs are given equal opportunities to discover and enhance their potentials as individuals.
JMS provides a learning environment that broadens learner's understanding to recognize and accept different cultural and belief systems. Also, learners are guided and supported in their learning journeys as they independently explore and seek the truth and relevance of their learnings. During the process, JMS makes sure that our learners feel secure and safe. Moreover, we ensure that our learners enjoy and have fun as they take on their learning journey.
Our school is equipped with spacious Libraries (Main, Primary and Early Years), Laboratories (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and IT), a Music Centre which which houses the JMS Music Centre affiliated to London College for Music (LCM) Examination, an Art Room, a Performance Theater and interactive-classrooms which support creative teaching and learning. JMS also has extensive sport facilities- a soccer field swimming pools, indoor and outdoor playground, and the Sports Hall which houses the Basketball, Badminton and Futsal courts.
JMS' Early Years program focuses on nurturing our learners' creative and curious minds in discovering themselves and the world around them through exploration and experiential learning.
JMS implements the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from Pre-school to Year 5. We place special emphasis on treating learners as individuals, acknowledging their different needs and facilitating the development of the student as a whole. Different learning support programmes such as English Language Support programme and remedial classes are provided to assist every learner to overcome their weaknesses and difficulties.
For the Secondary programme (Grades 6 to 10), JMS offers the Cambridge International Examination (CIE), whereby learners earn the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) after completing Grade 10. This helps prepares our learners a solid foundation for their Junior College (Years 11 and 12) academic work requirements.
Our Junior College (Years 11 and 12) implements the esteemed IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) to prepare our learners' acceptance into the premier academic institutions of their choice for their university studies.
At JMS, every learner matters, for we are a FAMILY.
