Jewels International School of Kinshasa, an arcadian educational institute in harmony with nature in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, comprises of students and faculty from over 35 countries. JISK is an IB accredited school with PYP and DP, and MYP in candidate phase.
Founded in the year 1972, the school only had a garage for classroom and five toddlers as students. With consistent effort and an indomitable will to bring about a change in the community by offering them affordable and better education, JISK is a roaring epic of more than 1000 students now with state-of-the-art classrooms, IT lab, visual art studio, open air auditorium, design lab, park and an education system with international standards. Keeping the spirit of inquiry in mind, here students are encouraged to take the ownership of learning by following an experiential way of knowing and understanding. With an actively involved parent-teacher association and a very strong governance committee, here at JISK we believe that proper communication with a common goal is the key to success.
Community and Mission - The JISK community is a diverse community of learners, committed to fostering compassionate, confident and socially responsible individuals who are en route to global citizens. A community of teachers and students from more than 35 nationalities, represent unity in diversity in a campus that is spread over the length and breadth of 6 acres of land. With a mission to bring affordable and quality education to the local community, JISK is equally committed to maintaining an eco-friendly environment for all so that our students grow up to be caring individuals.
The program - JISK is a K-12 school offering world class education to students following the IB curriculum. Keeping the spirit of inquiry in mind, students are motivated to take the ownership of learning under the able guidance of the facilitators who attend IB workshops regularly as a part of their professional development journey.
