Founded in 2010, Jumeira Baccalaureate School (JBS) is part of Taaleem, the UAE's second largest education provider. The JBS campus sits on approximately eight acres of prime land in the heart of Dubai, with outstanding learning, sporting and performing arts facilities; including a FIFA sized grass field, 25m swimming pool and additional training pool, two large gymnasiums, two full-sized rooftop tennis courts, designated music and visual arts rooms, primary and secondary library and shared play areas for younger students.

Vision and Mission:

Our vision is to prepare all of our students for the innovation age by igniting their passions, purpose and curiosity through challenge and high expectations. Our students are responsible, confident and independent learners that embrace and celebrate diversity; they strive for excellence, whilst maintaining happiness and wellbeing.

Our mission is:

  • To embrace and respect diversity
  • To foster the wellbeing of all members of our community
  • To create a culture in which learning can flourish
  • To engage with high levels of challenge, enabling academic and personal success
  • To support cognitive and social skill development using innovative, research-based practice to enhance learning for all
  • To support the development of emotional intelligence, guided by the elements of the IB learner profile
  • To promote environmental awareness, sustainability and entrepreneurship

Our Core values are:

  • Wellbeing: promoting self-awareness; self-control; empathy; social skills; and personal responsibility.
  • Innovation: promoting critical thinking; communication; collaboration; and creative problem-solving skills.
  • High Expectations: promoting learner resilience; the capacity to reflect and act on constructive feedback; take pride in work; and a desire to excel.
  • Inclusion: promoting a diverse learning community; building relationships with, and motivating, each learner, including students of determination, through differentiation.
  • International Mindedness: promoting an attitude of respect to self and others.

Extended learning and Inclusion:

We aim to provide exceptional opportunities for each of our students in a supporting and challenging environment. We welcome all students to JBS. This could include students with special educational or learning needs, students with English as an additional Language (EAL), and those who are Gifted or Talented. Our dedicated Inclusion Team works on a graduated response to identify and remove barriers to learning. We pride ourselves on high academic standards, however we are more than this. Truly excellent education is about developing a passion for life-long learning and a capability for independent thinking.
