Leibniz Privatschule (LPS) is a coeducational German and English-language day school. LPS provides education from kindergarten, primary school, to secondary school. In our German-language program students can graduate with the German school leaving certificates of middle school and Abitur. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, LPS is serving the internationally-minded community of the metropolitan region Hamburg. We teach the IB Diploma Programme, an ambitious two-year program in English language leading to an internationally acknowledged university entrance degree. Our primary school follows the language-immersion method where children are embedded in an English-language environment. LPS was founded in 2006 by educators and teachers. The modern school campus is located in Elmshorn, a town with 50.000 inhabitants 35 km northwest of Hamburg. A second campus was founded in 2008 and is now residing at a newly build site in Kaltenkirchen, 35 km north of Hamburg.

We seek to deliver not only education but to help young people to develop strong personalities and to be prepared for life. It is our aim to enable them to flourish in their chosen fields, for example in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. We encourage intercultural understanding while paying respect to cultural and national identities.

Students attending LPS comprise a variety of nations. While most students have a German background a growing number of students are non-German totaling 40 different nationalities. Our teachers reflect this internationality. Some have worked and lived abroad before teaching at LPS. A substantial part of our teachers have non-German mother tongue.
