World-class education through the Five Centres of Excellence
Malvern College Hong Kong (MCHK) is an IB World School offering the PYP, MYP and DP curriculum to its culturally diverse pupil body. Following its successful launch in August 2018, primary and secondary classes now operate from Prep 1 (Year 1) to Lower Sixth (Year 12). The first cohort of Sixth Form pupils have commenced their Diploma Programme studies in August 2021 and will graduate in May 2023.
MCHK is located in Pak Shek Kok, New Territories, just adjacent to the Hong Kong Science Park. Its state-of-the-art campus facilities feature a 450-seat auditorium ("Big School"), an open-plan library, a dining hall ("Grub"), visual and performing arts studios, a ceramics studio, science laboratories, design workshops and maker spaces, a food technology room, a multi-purpose indoor sports hall and 6-lane 25m indoor heated swimming pool (both with viewing galleries), a primary sports hall with climbing wall and an outdoor sports pitch, located on the school's roof top.
Small class sizes give teachers the chance to engage personally and differentiate according to aptitude, skill set and need within lessons. Dedicated tutor-time and a genuine concern for the individual, built around an active house system, are additional key features. The school is strongly committed to holistic education and offers an extensive co-curricular activities programme for pupils to build on their existing talents and to explore new activities. Lower primary classes attend regular outdoor education sessions at the school's Forest-Beach School learning site.
MCHK is member of a growing network of Malvern schools across the globe including the UK, Egypt, Qingdao, Chengdu, Hong Kong and, most recently, Switzerland. Although each Malvern school has its own unique identity, they all share the same DNA and ethos built around the "Five Centres of Excellence", namely: British-style Pastoral Care, Enhanced Learning, Entrepreneurial Education, Outdoor and Environmental Education and a Global Network.
Malvern seeks to develop independent, forward-thinking individuals who demonstrate strength of character, leadership and responsibility. By providing a caring, supportive and ambitious learning environment, the school enables its pupils to maximise their academic potential, develop their talents and to flourish as individuals. The aim is for Malvern pupils to become truly open-minded, global citizens capable of building consensus, respect and an ability to collaborate with those from backgrounds different to their own.
