Mashrek International School is a private bilingual coeducational school founded in 1992, governed by a team of educators and professionals, located in Western Amman with a spectacular view and picturesque landscape.

We are now a CIS Accredited School
In February 2018 Mashrek International School was awarded the CIS Accreditation, this was based on evidence of excellent and effective alignment with the standards for CIS accreditation.
At Mashrek students learn to use and transfer knowledge to innovative situations, find solutions to problems, stimulate prior knowledge to construct meaning, and develop cognitive, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being.
Mashrek adopts research based instructional approach and delivers a curriculum that provides high quality education for the 21st century learner. At Mashrek the learning process engages students through inquiry and the use of different resources, it revolves around big ideas; it is conceptual, and it connects to real life; it is contextual. Assessment is authentic and allows students to demonstrate understanding in multiple ways, their thinking is visible, and the feedback they receive is constructive.
Bilingualism is one of our school's strengths; students acquire language skills in both Arabic and English.
Mashrek values our Arabic heritage and our students' mother tongue languages and believes that it enhances students' development in the local and international community. International students are supported by a special Arabic Language programme. The school also offers Spanish, French and Chinese as an additional language. Leadership Practices and International Mindedness
Mashrek aims to transform students into leaders who recognize their common humanity and help create a better and more peaceful world.
Mashrek students are exposed to a variety of experiences in which they practice community service, and communicate with local and international distinctive organizations and individuals. They learn how to investigate, plan, take actions, find solutions and reflect.
Mashrek students develop their emotional, physical and social skills through participation in sports, music, drama and visual arts. They participate in National and International events, musical productions, art exhibitions, plays, and conferences which allow for meaningful involvement and ownership.
Student well-being is the school’s priority, an Advisor-Advisee programme is designed to ensure that every student is recognized, cared for and guided. This programme is supported by a comprehensive counselling system.
Staff Professional Development Approach
Professional development needs for teachers are aligned with the school's appraisal system and teachers' professional growth. The School's PD program offers specialized in-school training for teachers on research-based practices in education. Teachers also participate in international workshops done by accredited organizations.
Teachers within the school have the opportunity to undergo an accreditation process that enables them to become IB workshop leaders, thus in-house training is conducted on a regular basis.
Innovative learning Environments
The school has launched its innovative learning spaces, ‘Manarat Ibn Rushd’, that includes ‘Zain Zinic’. These spaces aim to provide students with different learning opportunities and new technologies that support them in converting their innovative and creative ideas into productive projects that are shared with their community.
