At Nexus, we believe in doing things differently. We think that if we inspire our staff to be innovative and creative we can push the boundaries of education to create truly engaging learning environments for children. This philosophy is echoed by every teacher, in every class and in every extra-curricular activity.
Being an Apple Distinguished School, we understand the importance of using technology in a meaningful way to extend and redefine learning. By combining Apple devices with expert teachers and first class, flexible learning spaces, we capitalise on the opportunities digital technologies provide to promote inquiry based learning, collaboration and a personalised education for all our learners.
Primary Years Programme
Primary School is from Nursery to Year 6, ages 3 to 11 years. The Primary School is both the longest period of a child's education and the time when the most connections and discoveries take place.
Our Primary School provides a rich and dynamic, forward-looking learning environment. Our children build strong foundations in reading, writing, numerical skills and scientific understandings. In addition, we teach our learners to develop the skills and approaches to learning that are essential in this rapidly changing world.
Areas of learning are English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Arts, and Personal, Social and Physical Education. All our learners have the opportunity to learn in a second language. French or Chinese is taught through intensive and immersive daily language tuition from specialist speakers.
As one of the most recognisable pre-university programmes our IB Diploma programme offers a wide range of subject choices, small tutor groups, and career and university guidance.
Children have the opportunity to prepare for the demands of their IB Diploma with opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh and Learner Leadership Programme. Children are inspired to take meaningful action, following their passions with an innovative spirit.
Innovative Learning Spaces
We have had the unbelievable opportunity to build our dream school based on innovative and flexible learning spaces that enhance a child's learning experience. Because teaching is not confined to four walls, we use a wide range of spaces to engage children in their learning including our double storey treehouse. We have included exhibition spaces for children to present their work and design and technology rooms to integrate STEAM into lessons throughout the school.
Business and Economics has a boardroom for children to engage in real life lessons. Our Science department has an open concept classroom that can accommodate 80 learners at once, allowing a whole year group to create experiments and meta-analysis of data.
Bringing together so many learners encourages them to collaborate in exciting and stimulating environments.
