Success for All at QSI International School of Shekou!

QSI International School of Shekou is a non-profit institution that has operated in Shenzhen for 16 years as one of the only true international schools in Shenzhen serving the children of foreign families ages 2-18.

The city's largest international school with the longest-standing International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme authorization, QSI Shekou's four campuses offer an American-accredited (Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges) education in the English language. Students are able to graduate with both an American high school diploma and the IB Diploma. Prior to beginning the IB Diploma Programme, students have the option of taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Students can choose over 22 IB course options, meeting the interests of our students and their university aspirations, which vary in reflection of the 40 nationalities of students.

In 2018, 59 students of 16 nationalities graduated as the Class of 2018, receiving offers from over 80 universities in 11 different countries.

QSI Shekou is one of 37 schools in 31 countries operated by Quality Schools International.

QSI Shekou follows a mastery-learning pedagogy that nurtures and challenges the whole student by offering choice, rigor, and time as a resource with performance-based mastery.

Mastery learning pairs well with the IB Diploma Programme to challenge students to authentically learn, explore, and be challenged in accordance with the IB Learner Profile. QSI Shekou students are already well-versed in performance-based learning by the time they begin the IB Diploma Programme.

In the same vein as a strong CAS program, QSI educates the whole child by offering a wide range of after school activities ranging from competitive and recreational sports, choral and instrumental music, visual and graphic arts, a dynamic Maker's Space with opportunities to learn programming, robotics, and design, film & podcast production, and other events and clubs such as Model United Nations (MUN) and the National Honor Society (NHS).

Service is also embedded in QSI Shekou from an early age, with opportunities continually presented for students to participate actively as community members through service.

Our teaching staff of over 200 teachers is largely North American and hold current teaching licenses in their areas of expertise. Our IB Diploma Programme teachers are IB trained in a timely manner and collaborate with the QSI-wide network of IB teachers who have experience pairing the QSI mastery-learning approach with the IB Diploma Programme.
