Shekou International School (SIS) is a three-campus, private, co-educational, not-for-profit school located in Shenzhen, China. For over 30 years, SIS has long been at the forefront of international education for expatriate children in the region. SIS is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are a member of the East Asian Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE), and a founding member of All-China and Mongolia International School (ACAMIS) organization.

SIS currently enrolls over 1100 international students from Nursery through Grade 12 (ages 2-18). Our student body represents more than 40 different countries, including the US, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, France, and Germany. We currently employ over 250 world-class licensed faculty and staff members hailing from over 20 different countries. Our faculty and staff are masters of their craft, inspiring our students to become lifelong learners.

SIS provides a well-balanced, rigorous education that challenges students across all disciplines. At SIS, we use the best global practices in our curriculum. Our curriculum and programs develop students' knowledge, self-awareness, and self-confidence, allowing them to become the best representatives of the school as they enter universities and achieve success in a wide array of contexts. The language of instruction is English for all classes except for proficiency level Mandarin and French courses.

Service-learning is an essential part of the educational experience at SIS. Engaging students in community service projects is a way of encouraging our students to be principled, caring, and open-minded. Learning outside the classroom and helping others promotes empathy and understanding that supports students' ability to impact global and local communities.

Our co-curricular program engages students in opportunities to develop and extend themselves outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of sporting events, after school activities, clubs, and service. We believe these play an essential role in the broader holistic program offered by our school.

A partnership between educators, parents, and students, all working together to create a caring, supportive, and engaged community is the foundation of life here at SIS. Together, we provide a vibrant learning environment that extends beyond the classroom. Our Parent Support Association (PSA) are an integral part of our community that enhances and promotes school spirit.

At SIS, our Mission is to provide a rigorous education in a caring community and inspires our students to become principled, innovative contributors in a transforming world.
