Celebrating 30 Years of Education
SIS has long been at the forefront of international education for expatriate children in the region. The school currently enrolls close to 1000 students representing more than 40 different countries including the US, Canada, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, France and Germany. SIS currently employs 145 world-class faculty and staff members hailing from 15 different countries.
At SIS students are provided with a well-balanced, rigorous education that provides challenge, depth and variety across all disciplines. SIS students participate in a number of program enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom, allowing them to become the best representatives of the school as they enter renowned universities and achieve success in a wide array of contexts. Academics are a priority for SIS students, and their hard work and talents are demonstrated through a variety of assessments, including external examinations.
Service learning is an integral part of the educational experience at SIS. Students understand that they can make a difference in the world by learning about world issues and acting in an informed way to positively impact their local and global communities. Service learning at SIS also fosters an understanding of how others live and allows students to develop compassion and cultural understanding.
SIS is extremely proud of another set of IB Diploma results from our Class of 2018. Students achieved an average Diploma score of 37, compared with the world average of 30.0 points, with 30% of SIS students achieving above 40 points. At SIS, we include and support all our students in the pursuit of their IB Diploma.
SIS is the only international school in Shenzhen that is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The IB Diploma program is fully authorized by the International Baccalaureate organization. The school is a member of the East Asian Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) and a member of All-China and Mongolia International School (ACAMIS) organization.
