Founded in 2011, Shen Wai International School (SWIS) has established itself as one of the leading international schools in Shenzhen. SWIS is an IB Continuum School authorized to provide the PYP, MYP and DP and is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
With a vision of inspiring global minds and a mission to develop confident, open-minded, lifelong learners and inspires students who take action as responsible global citizens, SWIS strives to provide a world-class education for expatriate students based in Shenzhen as well as children who hold permanent residency from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. At present, the school welcomes over 930 students from over 38 different countries and employs a dynamic and diverse staff consisting of teachers from 15 different nationalities.

SWIS has invested in a world-class, purpose built facility to support the school's curricular and co-curricular programs. The modern facility has bright, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with technology that supports teaching and learning. SWIS also has a number of specialty learning areas such as a large, centrally located library, a maker space and robotics lab, three science labs, two design labs, four art rooms, four main music rooms, a dance studio, a track and field, a full sized gym, an 8 lane 25m swimming pool, a fitness room, a 500 seat theatre, a drama room and play areas. There are several breakout areas all over the school to facilitate various types of learning.
SWIS has an extensive co-curricular program that includes over 100 diverse and inspiring music, drama, academic and technical related after school activities. Many activities are student led or service orientated allowing SWIS students to develop leadership and organizational skills. The many SWIS athletic teams compete in two regionally based athletic conference.
SWIS will graduate its first cohort in June of 2019. Without a doubt, these students will be prepared to be successful in the world’s leading universities.
