St Peter's College is set on 32 hectares of magnificent grounds and is only three kilometres from Adelaide city centre. With beautiful buildings, both historic and modern, our educational facilities and sports fields are among the best in the country. Our grounds are world-class, with seven ovals, a hockey pitch, ten tennis courts and a state-of-the-art sports centre with swimming pool and full gymnasium. We also have an outdoor education campus in Finniss, near Lake Alexandrina, about an hour’s drive from Adelaide.

At St Peter's College, we provide a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment and we are a world leader in wellbeing and positive education. Our wellbeing strategy builds on the tradition of the pastoral care model that is firmly embedded in the School by teaching preventative mental health strategies.

Boarding has always held a central place in the life of St Peter’s College and our on-campus Boarding House delivers a safe, comfortable and homely experience. Our boarders come from regional and remote Australia while our international students come from a wide range of countries, most notably in the Asia-Pacific region but also from the Netherlands and the UK.

The curriculum at St Peter's College provides opportunities for every student to be educated to take their place in the world as informed, active, responsible citizens, often in positions of leadership in the community. We want every student to commit to being a creative and open-minded life-long learner. Importantly, every boy is responsible for his own learning. Teachers work with every student to enable him to show independence of thought, develop intellectual tenacity and to understand himself as a learner.

From Year 7 to Year 12, students at St Peter’s College are challenged, inspired and nurtured through both a rich and diverse curriculum and through evidence-based, innovative teaching. Opportunities are provided for students through subjects within eight Faculties:

  • The Arts (Visual and Performing)
  • English
  • Personal Development (Health and Physical Education; Religious and Values Education; Positive Psychology)
  • Humanities
  • Languages (including EALD)
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Technology

The School offers both the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program in Years 11 and 12. We offer over 20 SACE subjects and 15 IB subjects, in six different areas, to enable boys to select a course of study in keeping with their abilities and interests. Five languages (Chinese, French, German, Spanish ab initio and Italian abinitio) are offered in Year 11 and 12 for both the SACE and the IB Diploma. Students who take the IB Diploma must study at least one language other than English. More information on both the SACE and IB programs can be found on the School website.
