UISG has been providing a rigorous academic programme for the international community since 1998. We are authorised to provide the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. Academic rigour is assured due to the high caliber of international teachers employed. UISG students perform well in the IB Diploma examinations and gain entry to leading universities around the world, including the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. The IB Diploma average score is always well above the world average.

Mother tongue language

Mother tongue languages are sustained and developed within the curriculum. Students develop an academic vocabulary, expand their language usage, and study literature and culture in their mother tongue. Languages currently offered to mother tongue speakers include: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

Global Citizens

The host country language and culture is studied through specialist Chinese language classes, integrated units of work in the classroom and field trips in the region. Students participate in a full range of co-curricular activities and sporting events. Global citizenship is developed through: community service projects; Roots and Shoots and other environmental sustainability activities; MUN and GIN participation; and through our emphasis on multilingual communication. We are proud of UISG's commitment to the development of internationally-minded students who will benefit from their global connections and help create a better world.

The diverse faculty is recruited from the: UK, USA, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa and Switzerland.

Admissions officers are available throughout the year to speak to prospective families and provide tours of the campus. Families applying to UISG need to complete a parent/student interview, classroom observation (primary) and a base line assessment (secondary).
