Council is warm, friendly, and inviting, nestled in a small neighborhood called "Down the Bay" in Mobile, Alabama. The campus has a beautiful outdoor classroom featuring a gazebo and a butterfly garden. One original building remains on the campus and is a part of the Mobile Historic Preservation Society. Living up to its namesake, (Dr. William Hooper Council, the first president of Alabama A & M University) has been a remarkable accomplishment. The community is very proud of Council’s continuous accomplishments. Council's state testing data was #1 in Mobile County Public School System and #6 in the state overall during the 2016-2017 school year. This year, Council will celebrate 30 years as a Magnet School. Many programs and recognition activities will take place. Council is presently under the leadership of Hattie Alexander, Principal and Mr. Chresal Threadgill, Superintendent.
