Founded in 1932 in Hong Kong, Yew Chung has been providing bilingual education in a multicultural environment for 90 years. With profound experience in international education, Yew Chung International School (YCIS) provides educations commence in Early Childhood, extend through Primary and Secondary education, culminating in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

Co-Principals and Co-Teaching Models

Two Co-Principals, one Western and one Chinese, serve as partners in the operations and administration of the school. In addition, two fully-qualified teachers, one Western and one Chinese, together plan lessons and conduct classes in the Early Childhood Education and Primary School, and providing excellent role models who respect and value one another’s culture.

YCIS Education Programme

YCIS's international curriculum is based on the framework and learning criteria from the National Curriculum for England (NCE). The research based curriculum allows high standards and ease of transition for international students.

International Recognition

YCIS - Secondary is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an IB World School and is an approved authorised Cambridge International Examination (CIE) Centre. YCIS - Secondary has received accreditations from Council of International Schools (CIS).

Highlights of YCIS Hong Kong’s IBDP 2021 results

  • 5 students achieved the near-perfect score of 44
  • 31 students achieved a score of 40 points or higher (39% of the cohort)
