American International School Kuwait (AIS) is an accredited co-educational independent day school that offers all three IB Programmes Pre-K through Grade 12. It has a rigorous academic programme within a nurturing learner-centered environment.

English is the primary language of instruction. A large population of our Arabic first-language speakers are from Kuwait or within the Middle East region. Our international student population hail from over forty-seven countries globally.

The school has an outstanding extracurricular programme that offers a wide variety of activities in sports and the creative arts. There is an active Model United Nations (MUN) club and every year, our students travel to the annual Assembly in The Hague.

The school facility includes two gymnasia, several outdoor sports areas, music and theater spaces, strength training and aerobics rooms, as well as a 1200 seat auditorium. The walled campus includes nearly one hundred teaching spaces that surround two interior courts. Our Learning Commons offers a collaborative space for student inquiry, instructional coaching, and collaboration and houses a library with a large fiction, non-fiction, and Arabic collection.

Graduates of AIS attend dozens of English language universities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The ethnic diversity of the Middle East, layered with the complexity of an otherwise international student body, provides a stimulating and endlessly fascinating environment in which we live the IB learner profile.

AIS Kuwait inspires students to become critical thinkers and contributing world citizens through rigor and balance in a nurturing educational environment.
