The American Overseas School of Rome (AOSR) has been a cornerstone of international education in Italy since 1947. Located in Rome, we serve about 610 students, with 70% coming from diplomatic and international families representing over 50 countries. We offer a full academic path from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12, featuring both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and American diploma programmes.

AOSR has been a leader in offering the IB Diploma Programme since 1989, establishing itself as one of Rome's pioneering schools in international education. In 2025–2026, we expect 96% or higher of our seniors to graduate with an IB Diploma. Last year, we celebrated a 100% IB pass rate and this year we have a record number of IB candidates, thanks to our comprehensive course offering. Our graduates continue to excel, gaining acceptance to top universities worldwide including MIT, Yale, Harvard, UC Berkeley, University of Toronto, Bocconi, King's College London, and the United States Naval Academy. The IB Diploma's recognition as equivalent to the Italian "Maturità" also opens doors to leading Italian universities.
