The Anglo European School is a genuinely unique comprehensive school committed to achieving the highest academic success through its distinct, international curriculum. The broad and balanced education offered, with its distinctive programme of international exchanges, visits and extensive extra-curricular offer, produces open-minded and confident young people who are able to communicate effectively in a variety of languages and who have an appreciation and understanding of different cultures, religions and communities in modern Britain and beyond.

The Sixth Form is outstanding and has been awarded the highest Ofsted grades for over 20 years. The Anglo European School was the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 2010 became the first UK state school to offer the IB Career-related Programme. It also provides the opportunity to study A Levels alongside courses from the IB Diploma. Students have the opportunity to study a language ranging from introductory level, which assumes no prior knowledge, up to more advanced courses in the A Level and IB Diploma routes. Six languages are taught in the school: French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Russian and Spanish and we have an experienced EAL department which supports those for whom English is an additional language. We believe that this gives an unrivalled opportunity for each student to combine qualifications in a way which best suits their needs and makes them stand out in the global employment marketplace.

Situated in Ingatestone, with excellent rail and road connections, local children are joined by children from Essex, the home counties, London and abroad who value its international philosophy based on the mission of the International Baccalaureate. This diversity provides a rich education which prepares succeeding generations of students for life in a global, diverse society.

A remarkable feature of the school is its visits and exchanges programme. Over 800 students every year take part in the exchange programmes and residential visits to France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, China, Japan and Singapore. Sixth Form students also have the opportunity to undertake international work experience in Frankfurt, Madrid, Nanjing, Paris and Venice.

This is an exciting, principled and innovative school which is confident in its ambition and passionate about its mission. It is a school which proves that an education with an international dimension leads to high academic success and outstanding personal development for all its students in an inclusive and international community.
