Ethos

The Sixth Form at Ashcroft Technology Academy is an exceptional place to learn. Students and staff have worked together to create a culture of aspiration and success. Our students enjoy their time at the Sixth Form and are given superb support and guidance, which combined with excellent teaching, enables our students to excel.

Academic

Students leave our sixth form articulate, confident, accomplished and ambitious young adults who understand the importance of rigour and high standards. Underpinning our proven track record of success is a team of highly motivated, hard working and qualified staff who have an unreserved belief in the ability and potential of young people to succeed. Our IB results are outstanding: in 2023, our average points score was 38.1 and the average grade per subject was 6. Each year, a number of students achieve over 40 points, allowing them to accept places at the very best universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and universities outside of the UK.

Outside the Classroom

The extracurricular provision at the Academy is virtually unrivalled. Many members of staff at the Academy run a club or society, providing our students with a wealth of enrichment opportunities. Advanced Collective Orchestra, Debating Society, LawSoc and MedSoc have been particularly popular with IB students. Students attend a range of workshops, lectures and conferences both within and outside of school. The Academy offers a range of leadership opportunities, from House Captains to the Head Student Team. Furthermore, students who display a particular passion for a subject may also apply for our scholarship, receiving up to £500 to put towards an opportunity to develop in that field. Examples include pre-med courses or university summer schools.

Location and Facilities

Ashcroft Technology Academy has a superb location in South West London. Waterloo station is just 15 minutes away by train and we are located adjacent to the A3 and East Putney underground station. Facilities are exceptional; our purpose built Sixth Form Centre has a university style study area, classrooms designed for Sixth Formers and a Sixth Form exclusive annex to our main school library. Additional to our excellent existing resources, the Academy boast 10 state-of-the-art science laboratories, a sixth form Art Studio and two professional quality fitness suites.
