Founded in 2010 and recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization as an IB World School, Beacon School welcomes students from Early Childhood through High School, with approximately 1500 enrolled.

Our mission is to offer a bilingual international education that is open to the world while valuing our Brazilian roots. In a welcoming, enthusiastic, and respectful environment, Beacon provides an academically challenging, inquiry-based education aimed at shaping responsible citizens who see diversity as an opportunity to enrich both their personal growth and our society as a whole.

Our students graduate with dual certification, the Brazilian High School diploma and the internationally recognized IB Diploma Programme fully prepared to enter top universities in Brazil and around the world.

Beacon offers all three IB programs: the Primary Years Programme | PYP, for Early Childhood and Elementary School; the Middle Years Programme | MYP, for Middle School; and the Diploma Programme | DP, for High School students. As a school that recognizes its Brazilian identity, Beacon articulates the IB programs to the national curriculum and thus contributes to the development of individuals capable of understanding, acting, and transforming the contexts in which they live. Language and Brazilian Literature, History and Geography of Brazil, and manifestations of our culture have a fundamental place in the curriculum at all levels. The understanding of our country and the strengthening of identity bonds are also facilitated through field trips, offering immersive experiences and insights into the rich history, diverse experiences, and local issues within Brazil, a nation of vast dimensions. Beacon promotes learning experiences in Portuguese and English, recognizing both languages as means of instruction, communication, and student identity development from Early Childhood to High School. Bilingualism strengthens students' creative potential and their awareness of the contexts in which languages are spoken. By the age of 10, students begin studying Spanish as a foreign language to enter High School fluent in three languages.
