Located in the heart of Sydney, Cranbrook School is an IB Continuum School offering the Primary Years, Middle Years and IB Diploma Programmes. We are committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who respond to challenges with optimism and an open-mind, are confident in their own identities, make ethical decisions, join with others in celebrating our common humanity and are prepared to apply what they learn in real world, complex and unpredictable situations.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: A LIFE-LONG LOVE OF LEARNING

Cranbrook School is committed to academic excellence, inspiring students to strive to achieve beyond their expectations and to broaden their horizons. Our dedicated teachers encourage young people to engage enthusiastically with intellectual challenges and develop a life-long love of learning.

THE ARTS: A WORLD CLASS PROGRAMME

We place great importance on cultural and artistic expression. Participation in these programmes aims to develop skills in leadership, performance, creativity and decision-making. Our vision is to provide a world class programme for a world class school: A programme which excites, inspires and encourages boys to dream, persevere and achieve.

SPORT: INCLUSIVENESS AND CHALLENGE

Our sports programme promotes inclusiveness, opportunity and competition. Students are driven to challenge themselves through the development of their skills, training and conditioning, with a strong focus on balancing the comradery of team success with the satisfaction of individual achievement.

CO-CURRICULAR: A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO EDUCATION

Reflecting the true ethos of the School, Cranbrook's co-curricular activities are broad, distinctive, holistic and well-rounded. Our students take part in a stimulating range of extra subjects over and above the set curriculum designed to widen each student's horizons, enable them to find their niche, and allow them to grow in confidence and achieve excellence in all that they do.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING: ESCAPING THE CONSTRAINTS OF CITY LIFE

All students also benefit from an enhanced focus on education within the natural environment as part of our 'Cranbrook in the Field' experience held at our experiential bush campus at Wolgan Valley and in the Australian Capital Territory. This unique educational experience gives us the opportunity to instil in our students the value of contemplation, camaraderie, reflection, conversation and wonder, free from the distraction of technology and city life.

BOARDING: A BRIDGE TO UNIVERSITY LIFE AND BEYOND

Ever since Cranbrook first opened its gates in 1918, our School has been a home away from home to boarding students, ensuring an academic environment and nurturing community where boys can learn and grow. Two Boarding Houses are home to 75 students from across Sydney, regional Australia and the world - all living, learning and growing together.
