Edgewood, an International Baccalaureate World School, is committed to building a globally-aware community of lifelong learners who achieve high academic standards.

Edgewood provides a diverse, challenging curriculum that is student-centered and develops inquisitive, knowledgeable, and empathetic students who actively engage in and contribute to their family, community, and the world around them.

Edgewood Middle School is a public school located in the city of West Covina, 19 miles east of Los Angeles. Edgewood received the IB Middle Years Programme authorization in December 2018 and is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Edgewood is a school of choice serving a diverse population of 595 students in grades 6-8. Edgewood provides a smaller learning community focused on preparing creative, inquiring, and caring students. Edgewood IB students are ready to make connections between subjects studied and the real world as well as develop critical and reflective thinking skills.

EMS offers a variety of courses to meet our diverse student needs. The curriculum includes: honors courses in 7th and 8th grade, a Dual Language program, a world language program offering both Mandarin and Spanish, a fine arts department offering visual arts, music, theater, a health and physical education program, dance, yearbook, and services for special education and English learner students.

Edgewood Middle School offers outstanding student support through committed, compassionate teachers that provide multi-tiered systems of interventions and enrichment opportunities. Edgewood students are holistically taught in diverse learning environments that prepare students for a global workplace. Partnerships with community, local agencies, and organizations provide opportunities for students to participate in activities for service. Students at Edgewood get to learn in our modern, newly constructed state-of-the-art Event Center. The Event Center features a multi-purpose auditorium with a 350-seat capacity, and houses the IB Career Programme courses in Game Design, Athletic Training, Performance and professional Dance, and Video Production. The new Edgewood Sports Complex features an Olympic-size swimming pool, updated locker rooms, two digital scoreboards capable of video playback, a high-quality sound system, and updated basketball courts. Students at EMS are provided personal and social development opportunities created by participation in extracurricular activities such as WEB, 40+ clubs, dances, performances, cheer and athletics. Edgewood offers sports in track and field, flag football, tennis, softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
