ELCHK Lutheran Academy (LA) is a through-train school with its primary and secondary sections at the same location. We gained IB authorization to offer the Diploma Programme (DP) in September 2014, the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in January 2018, and the Middle Years Programme in November 2019 respectively, which marked a great milestone for the Academy.

We offer a wide range of subjects for all the programmes. DP subjects comprise the 6 subject groups: Languages (Chinese, English, and French), Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), Individuals and Societies (Economics, Business & Management, and History), Mathematics (Mathematics Analysis & Approaches, and Mathematics Application & Interpretation), and The Arts (Visual Arts and Music). MYP subjects encompass the 8 subject groups such as Languages (Chinese, English), Arts (Visual Arts, Drama, Music), and Design and so on.

The PYP, as the foundation of the curriculum, initiates students to develop ideas contributing to international mindedness. Embracing the Unit of Inquiry (UOI), students are encouraged to question and refine their understanding of individual wellbeing, learning communities, and the world from different perspectives.

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life in Hong Kong, we are dedicated to make a difference in students' lives. Creating a warm and friendly campus, students are nurtured to explore their potentials and develop their talents through diverse experiences.

By offering holistic and balanced Christian education, the professional teaching team with teachers from different cultural backgrounds is committed in nurturing students to strive for excellence and to become global leaders of tomorrow. To maximize the learning opportunities and provide adequate care to individual needs, LA adopts small-class teaching that our overall teacher-student ratio is around 1:8.

We encourage students to explore concepts in manifolds of forms to ensure their whole-person development. Students are exposed to learning from varieties of activities, including field trips, Co-curricular and Extra-Curricular activities. During the EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) week, students experience the learning outside the classroom and broaden their horizons. After the activities, they showcase to share what they have acquired to their classmates, parents and teachers.

To support programme implementation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been well integrated into education to equip students with ICT skills. With the "Apple One-to-One Program", each secondary student is equipped with a laptop for daily learning. Together with the whole school Wi-Fi coverage, the ICT-infused inquiry-based learning has been effectively and efficiently facilitated.

With the enthusiastic support from the LA community, the school is growing from strength to strength to provide high quality education for the future rising generation.
