The Good Schools Guide

We welcome students from all over the world to appreciate a British boarding school education, with full boarding offered from the age of 8 at our Prep School. Felsted offers boys and girls aged four to eighteen a first class all round education, based on a safe, rural 80 acre village campus in stunning North Essex, only one hour from London and Cambridge. International students, which make up approximately 20% of our pupil body, instantly become part of the Felsted family and quickly make new friends.

Pupils thrive in a School which cares for the individual and gives so many opportunities to excel both academically and in a wide range of activities. Away from the classroom, your child will become a valuable member of sporting teams, involved in drama and music or many of the other clubs and activities available.

We offer the GCSE programme for ages 14 to 16 and a choice of A Levels or the IB Diploma Programme from age 16 to 18, with many subject options to choose from. Felsted has a successful record of achieving well in the IB, with an average score of 35.5 in 2018, 5.5 points above the world average. Five students achieved scores of over 40 points, putting them in the top 6% worldwide.

Our welcoming Boarding Houses ensure that strong friendships are made, with an active weekend programme ensures your child is happy and stimulated. All our students and staff attend School on Saturday, and our Sunday boarders’ programme is extensive.

We believe that our rounded and holistic approach, supported by the global Round Square network to which we belong, is what will make a difference to your child's path through life. In return, we hope that your child will also develop into someone who seeks to make a difference.

Admission for international students is by entrance test and interview. Prospective pupils and their families are encouraged to visit. Our admissions and marketing team make many international visits each year and will always try to meet prospective pupils in their own countries when they visit.
