Our mission is to create lifelong learners who possess the competencies, confidence, and knowledge to meet the challenges that face them. Living in a diverse society and globalized world, we work on graduating students who are contributing members of society, tolerant of others and empowered to shape their own future.

The German International School Beirut maintains its progress through constant improvement in both structural and curricular aspects, having the students at the top of our pyramid of priority. Our motto is "Inspire-Educate-Support".

Inspire: Student Life

We prepare students for life by exposing them under guidance to a wide range of real-world activities and experiences. Students are given the opportunity and the ability to excel in various fields to attain their aspired ambitions, roles in society, and character. In a world where a major requirement for post-secondary education and careers is the ability to think critically and to apply knowledge to the real world, technology is used to fully integrate and support all our students academically. Classrooms are fully networked, to allow students access to the widest and most relevant information available. In addition, ICT is used to connect students to each other, their teachers, and their course work in order to make best use of modern communication to facilitate learning and promote lifelong learning.

Middle and Secondary Classes have a high-tech teaching and learning approach as a method for applying all learning methods. Students use PC-Tablets instead of hard copy books and copybooks, re-enforcing the school's "Going Green" project.

Educate: Curricular Aspects

Along with the IB Diploma Programme, the Lebanese National Programme and the official German language Diploma (DSD I, II) are offered. Students have the possibility to audit the IB Diploma Programme for subjects with German as a Response Language, namely Biology and History, in addition to the German A Language and Literature course, allowing students to attain a bilingual IB Diploma, which is considered equivalent to the German Abitur. As part of having internationalism as a core component of the curriculum, students are offered English, German, Arabic, French, and Spanish.

Support: School Community and Atmosphere

The German International School Beirut strives to be a racially and culturally diverse community of students, parents, and teachers dedicated to creating a peaceful environment, where each person is treated with unconditional patience, regard and acceptance. Within such an environment each student becomes empowered and inspired to reach his or her full academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual potential.
