Greengates School, Mexico has been held in high esteem for close to 70 years. Its British style international education caters to 1200 students, aged 3-18. The student body is largely made up from the diplomatic and business communities of Mexico City.

International-mindedness and cultural diversity are seen daily through the participation of over 50 nationalities.

The mission statement of Greengates School holds as true as ever today as it did when it was written in 1951. We encourage our students to develop character, self-discipline, respect and reflection in a challenging learning environment which honours individual differences. At Greengates we act with integrity and seek to motivate our students to become socially responsible citizens while achieving academic excellence.

As a British international school English is the language of instruction, from the age of six all students also study Spanish. Support in both languages is given as required. Furthermore, French is taught in the Secondary School and can be taken at IGCSE and on the IB diploma. Korean and Japanese are also available as options on the diploma.

Graduates from Greengates attend some of the most prestigious universities in the world. Of the 2018 cohort 20% are attending universities in the USA, acceptances to Greengates students were made by Brown, University of California, Johns Hopkins, Yale and many others. 25% of the year group are studying in Canada, while offers were received from University College London, King's College London, St Andrew's, University of Edinburgh and many more. Our students also study at some of the very best universities in other regions such as Sophia and Waseda in Japan and KAIST in Korea, or across Europe. Greengates students received scholarship offers totaling over $1.5M USD.

The teaching body at Greengates is comprised of almost 140 teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds. Alongside the many British teachers, highly qualified and experienced educators come from across the world, with all regions represented. Teachers bring a variety of different skills and modern methods to the classroom and beyond. Approaches to teaching and learning are central to students' success.

The Primary School uses the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) inquiry based curriculum. The Secondary School prepares students for the International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE). The IGCSE two-year course is studied prior to embarking on the IB diploma programme. The Secondary School has been authorised to offer the IB diploma programme since 1986. In each of the last three years the pass rate has been over 98%, with overall points scores consistently well above the world average.

The Greengates campus covers are area of 20,000 square metres, with purpose-built facilities including two libraries, nine sciences laboratories, six computer media centres, four art studios, an auditorium, a large gymnasium, basketball courts, an indoor swimming pool, an organic learning garden used by all students, a cafeteria, an adventure playground designed by the famous architect Javier Senosiain and an all-weather field.
