Haut-Lac International Bilingual School is a leading bilingual day and boarding school on the Swiss Riviera, ideally located near Vevey and Montreux and just 20 minutes from Lausanne. The school welcomes Swiss, international and expat families from across the Lake Geneva region and beyond.
Founded in 1993 and still led by its founding family, Haut-Lac draws on over 30 years of expertise in delivering outstanding bilingual and international education in Switzerland. Today, it welcomes more than 600 students representing over 60 nationalities. Accredited by CIS, IBO, NEASC and SGIS, and a member of the Boarding Schools Association (BSA), the school is defined by strong human values, close pastoral care, and a deep commitment to each student's personal and academic development.
Haut-Lac offers a full bilingual English-French or English-only education from Nursery (18 months) to age 18. Students complete their journey with the International Baccalaureate (IB), choosing between the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), making Haut-Lac one of the few schools in Switzerland to offer both pathways. Small class sizes ensure highly personalised support, reflected in a 100% IB pass rate and consistently strong results above the global average, with graduates progressing to leading universities in Switzerland and worldwide.
As Switzerland's first Athlete-Friendly Education Centre accredited by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), Haut-Lac offers a dedicated IB Sport & Study programme for high-level student-athletes, combining elite sport development with academic excellence.
Haut-Lac Boutique Boarding House delivers a true Swiss Boarding School experience, providing a safe and supportive residential environment with en-suite accommodation and structured study support. With a deliberately small boarding community, students benefit from individual attention and strong relationships with house parents and staff, while enjoying full integration into school life.
A rich array of more than 150 after-school activities, strong parent-school partnerships, and a warm, inclusive culture all contribute to a stimulating and supportive environment where students can flourish with confidence and purpose.
