Mission:

"We all want to learn more;

We all do it in different ways;

We all have fun learning;

We all help."

- ISB Student

ISB is a private, not-for-profit, co-educational day school established in 1979. Our students and teachers come from all corners of the world, creating a diverse and inclusive community. We live our Mission every day in every area of the school, as it reminds us to appreciate our learning differences, help each other out, and in our quest for excellence, find a way to make it fun and engaging.

Here at ISB, we firmly believe that true education neither ends nor begins in the classroom alone. As our students explore the world beyond the classroom, our well-qualified teachers and staff instill a skill set that will help them remain lifelong learners, no matter where they live and what they do in the world.

We live in a rapidly changing world, thus, education must lead that change. Investing in professional development at all levels to stay at the forefront of educational trends is our priority to prepare our students to embrace challenges and shape a better world.

At ISB, we prepare students to flourish and impact their world. Our goal is to enable them to "Feel Good and Do Good", by providing them with positive and satisfying learning experiences, and helping them develop a deeper purpose to serve something greater than themselves.

Campuses

Our three campuses, located on the outskirts of the city of Basel on the edge of the Swiss countryside, provide students with world-class learning opportunities. An efficient public transport system and convenient pedestrian and bicycle paths ensure easy access to ISB campuses. Age-appropriate and supportive learning environments encourage students' potential and nurture their talents at all stages of intellectual, physical and emotional development, providing them with the means to grow and thrive.

Inclusion

We understand that all children learn differently and possess individual strengths and areas for growth. As stated in our Mission, "We all do it in different ways." ISB embraces diversity, not only in race or culture, but in the learning profiles of our students. ISB serves learners by aligning student needs with appropriate resources and support by qualified and experienced teachers and staff.
