Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, the International School of Boston (ISB) is an independent, non-profit, age 2-grade 12 multilingual school located in Cambridge, MA. This world-class accredited academic institution places the development of the bilingual brain at the heart of its mission. Offering a rich experience with rigorous programs, ISB prepares its students for a lifetime of learning and service.

In addition to being long known for its excellence in bilingual French and English education, ISB has recently launched new Chinese and Spanish language programs for our students to explore and master starting in Grade 2. Our youngest students, in Pre-K through Grade 1, are also expanding their knowledge of Spanish and Chinese in our Éveil aux langues program, which helps them to start awakening to and exploring these languages. This gives our Elementary students the opportunity to become trilingual, while our Secondary students have the option to study Spanish at the novice or fluent level within the English-based International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Whether students join us in Maternelle, Lower, Middle or Upper School, ISB graduates stand apart from other day schools' graduates, because their knowledge of the world is enhanced by learning across the disciplines in multiple languages and by connecting with diverse classmates from more than 40 countries. All ISB students graduate with an American high school diploma, having chosen between two internationally renowned diplomas, the French or the International Baccalaureate. Thus they have the opportunity to thrive at leading universities in the United States, France, and around the world.

One of the many beneficial programs offered to Upper School students at ISB is the "Agora Monde" platform that allows them to connect with 60,000+ students and alumni from Lycées in the AEFE (agency for French education abroad) network around the world. They also have the opportunity to study for up to a trimester at a partner school abroad. Our younger students take advantage of all that the Greater Boston area has to offer in terms of culture, arts, and history through experiential learning programs. ISB also has a very strong athletic program that includes its Blue Terriers Varsity Interscholastic soccer, basketball, volleyball and fencing teams.
