Welcome to the International School Rheintal (ISR)! We are the leading IB World School in the Rheintal region catering for ages 3-19 years. We strive to meet the needs of each and every student through a personalised education and individual support to reach their potential.

Why ISR

While academic excellence plays an important role at ISR and our Diploma students constantly score above the IB world average, the development of the student as a whole to become a responsible and engaged global citizen is at the centre of all we do.

Individual academic support, one-on-one EAL classes, school and career counselling and our welcoming, international community are strong features of our school.

We encourage students to take their learning beyond the classroom through programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and the Model United Nations.

Where We Are

Situated in the heart of the Rheintal, a beautiful part of Eastern Switzerland, we are surrounded by mountains and the Rhein with glorious views whilst being easily accessible by public transport or by car. Our ISR school bus conveniently connects the town of St. Gallen with the school. The nature surrounding us invites us to participate in diverse outdoor activities and is an integral part of our daily teaching and learning.

New School Campus

In summer 2023, ISR moved to a modern, ecologically-sustainable school campus. It was specifically designed for ISR's learning and teaching needs, with phased learning zones, versatile classrooms, science labs, specialist art and design studios, outdoor learning & lunch zones, and a competition-sized double gymnasium and workout gym.

How to join

As a non-selective school, our doors are open to all families with children from ages 3 to 19 sharing our vision and mission. We accept applications all year round and are happy to work with families to make the application process as simple as possible. Please contact us at admissions@isr.ch to ask your questions, to book a free tour or a trial day at any time.
