Uniquely positioned on the beautiful island of Madeira, the Pearl of the Atlantic, International Sharing School – Madeira offers an international education in one of Europe’s most distinctive island settings.
With over 45 years of experience in international education, International Sharing School Madeira is the only school on the island offering the full IB Continuum, providing the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 3 to 18, within an international, multilingual and multicultural environment representing more than 30 nationalities.
In 2026, the school opened its new flagship campus in the heart of Funchal. Established within a remarkable century-old building, the campus brings together two seemingly contrasting ideas in perfect harmony: the preservation of Madeira’s architectural heritage and the creation of innovative, contemporary learning environments designed for future generations.
At the heart of ISS's educational approach is the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate. Learning is inquiry-based, encouraging students to ask questions, explore ideas, make connections and develop their own understanding of the world around them.
