Léman International School Chengdu (LIS) opened in the fall of 2009. Our school serves the pre-kindergarten to children of expatriate families from age 3 to 18 years in a Pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 program. Our purpose built campus occupies 50 acres (20 hectares) in the Tianfu New Area of Chengdu and has capacity for approximately 1,000 students.
Léman International School is part of the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) group which is the world's leading premium school organization with 66 international schools, boarding schools and private schools around the world. LIS students benefit from the Juilliard Performing Arts Programme and the STEAM programme which are the collaborations between NAE, Juilliard School and MIT. They may also work with over 64,000 NAE students through in school, online and worldwide opportunities with Global Campus.
Léman boasts world class facilities on an extensive campus. These include fully equipped modern classrooms, science laboratories, an art studio, music studio, I.T. rooms, gymnasium, 25 meter indoor swimming pool and large outdoor sports facilities.
Our student body represents more than 30 nationalities and the school provides an international curriculum with the commitment to support students return to their home country. The Primary School curriculum is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), currently provided in 1,000 schools in 65 countries. The grade 6 to 10 utilizes the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). LIS is an IB World School and offers the IB Diploma Programme for students in Grade 11 and 12.
LIS is committed to the provision of an exceptional education for all of its students. To that end, all teachers are fully qualified, experienced and most have worked in other international schools. The school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
