La Scuola International School:
Where boundless learning leads
At La Scuola International School, we believe our complex, interconnected society demands a new model of education – one that opens minds, expands hearts, and fills our spirits with joy.
Our curiosity-first environment blends exuberant exploration, academic excellence, a global mindset, and multilingual expression to best prepare students for our ever-changing world. Students learn here in this distinctive way because we know the real measure of success is a proven ability to meet change as change-makers.
Our novel approach pulls from the world's most uplifting educational ideas to create something uniquely effective. We use the critical thinking and connectivity of the International Baccalaureate to open our minds. The Reggio Emilia Approach is our heart, encouraging the care and expressiveness that leads to lifelong joy – and we're the only school that extends this approach all the way through middle school. Spiriting our students into the wider world is the third pillar of our approach: Italian/English language immersion and Spanish language learning. Building on these distinctively integrated models, we create space for boundless learning and eagerly meet the world as it is and as it will be.
Founded in 2002, La Scuola quickly grew into one of the Bay Area's top programs. We guide students from preschool through eighth grade to be leaders in their own learning. Our graduates are defined by their demonstrable impact, proving their ability to live anywhere, appreciate multiple perspectives, and trust in their abilities. They go on to live their lives feeling simultaneously grounded and exuberant.
Our USA campuses are authorized International Baccalaureate schools for the PYP and MYP programs. Our Milano campus will seek candidacy for these programs in the summer of 2026. La Scuola International School in San Francisco is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education as a Scuola Paritaria.
